Along with what I hope can be the last re-design of our theme for a little while, I have added a new “Tags” section to our main page. It includes the text posts and answered questions, but only per last 100 posts. I will be tagging all answered questions and text updates in the future, however. It also includes all posts tagged “gif,” be them ours or reblogs, (which isn’t ALL of our gifs, but does include a lot of them) since I know you guys like ‘em so much. Any input/concerns/suggestions?
We just reached 6,000 followers!
To commemorate that, there are now two new ways to interact with Fuck Yeah Blood.
You can like us on facebook.
And you can also become a part of our Facebook Group, if you’d like a place to talk about blood and socialize with each other. For the sake of your privacy- it is a closed group, so that no one who, for example, knows you’re in it, can see what’s being posted there. However, I DO PLAN ON ACCEPTING EVERYONE WHO ENTERS. It’s very experimental, and I haven’t even decided if we’ll keep it. It depends entirely on how much use you all get out of it. I’m sorry for any confusion, and should you have any questions, feel free to message me on my personal blog.
To enter, simply click this link, and there should be an option to request entry. Once you’re in, you can invite people via an “Invite Members” button on the right hand bar under the members list.
All you need to join is a facebook account!
We used a random number generator and here are our three winners! Go check them out!

Thank you all for raising awareness! There were OVER 1,000,000 signatures there last time I checked!
We just got a lot of messages regarding the reply I made awhile to SI (like, there is nothing ELSE in my inbox) and I just wanted to say, thank you, I suppose!
I do sometimes wonder if people would PREFER we post Self Injury/Self Mutilation but it appears that a lot of you would rather we don’t, and that’s swell, no fighting my better instincts on that issue.
Some people did express concerns that our blog is already very triggering, which is actually something I hadn’t heard before. I do agree, but particularly lately, with the introduction of blood painting and a lot more really artistic work, I can honestly say that I love it more than ever, and outside of a banning, it’s here to stay!
There ARE blogs that feature a lot of self mutilation, and that entirely promote or center around self mutilation. I’m not going to link them, but to the best of my knowledge, they don’t usually get banned. So, if that’s really what you think need, look it up, it shouldn’t take you too long to find it.
Two last notes:
I don’t know about Jackson, so please, remember, these are my opinions and not those of all of us, and not ones that will regularly be featured, but I do want to make this very clear- I do not have a PROBLEM with self mutilation. I think the last thing that people who do it need, is shame. It is a coping mechanism, and when you compare it with drinking, smoking, and many other coping mechanisms, it’s actually probably a bit less damaging in the long run, but like any coping mechanism, it is NO replacement for dealing with the stresses that are triggering you to do it, and making it hard for you to stop. However, the reason we don’t post it here is because it is triggering, and if we began to, I worry that it would over-run our blog. It is not shameful, and I do not want anyone to feel as though what they are doing makes them weird, or sick, or gross, or anything of the sort. In fact, most of the people that sent me messages, said that they, also, did it at one point, or still do. You are not a freak and we love you, we just don’t want to show people what the inside of your arms look like <3
And secondly, I’m sorry for not posting this all individually. If you post something with anonymous off, I’ll often send a message to your inbox, and if you’re the only person to ask something in awhile, I’ll post it, but FY blogs and the like that are over-run with questions are a pet peeve of both of ours, and I really think we probably spam your dashboards enough as it is!
- Cheyenne (http://solastone.tumblr.com/)
P.S.- On that note, if you need to say anything else and REALLY want me to publish it, ask it on my personal blog. Or if you just need to yell at me. I promise, I’m (usually) not just ignoring you but I don’t want arguments all over FYBlood, so if you must, direct it to my inbox, not this inbox.
While I’m getting all wordy— I thought I’d tell you all how to submit anonymously!
I cannot make submissions anonymous, and even if you don’t include a link, your name will show in the post notes (as “[yoururl] submitted this to fuckyeahblood”)
If you want to submit completely anonymously, sign out and THEN submit. Next to the submit button, there will be a spot to put an email (you can use mine if you’d like, it’s in the post) and a name (or you could just write “anonymous”)
This also means that if you read but are not a tumblr member, you can still submit!
I love it, and I seem to get positive responses on the ones I post, so I’m wondering, blood art as a regular feature; Yay or Nay?
I should probably tone down my obsession with blood.
We disagree.
We just reached 5,000 followers and I LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH RIGHT NOW I WANT TO MARRY YOU!
I cannot believe that this has progressed that far… I mean it literally baffles me. And we owe it entirely to you, you’re reblogging, your name droppin’, your support. Thank you so much. (: Tearin’ up…
This never used to be such a problem, but I’ve gotten literally five or six instances of it in the last two days, and so I just want to make a note that if you’ve not had a photo that you submitted posted either a) we hated it or b) you put it in via HTML or the little picture button (but possibly both). I hate trying to deal with that enough already (I save it, re-upload it, and link your name onto it for every post, while most of you only submit one or two at a time, let’s get real man, I can’t be doing that) but lately I’ve been having some tumblr troubles and I can’t even CLICK them to see them, save them, and re-upload them. It’s out of my hands, man, it looks really bad on the page and I can’t be fixing it all, so if you want it up, just save the photo, and upload it, pleeeeaaaase and thank you so much in advance.
I know it’s my own fault, too, so I’ll go ahead and put a note RIGHT into the submission guidelines.
Thanks in advance! - Annie
A note, from Annie so if this offends you, please don’t pin it on Jackson.
I loathe your period jokes. I loathe them.
Some of the art here DOES feature period blood, and it is still art.
Be respectful.
Also, I know there’s not much I can do about it, but please, if you’re reblogging something, particularlly when you’re reblogging it FROM us directly so you know it was submitted by a living, breathing person, please refrain from insinuating that person is disgusting or ugly. That should really be common logic. Again, I can’t stop you from posting anything, but I feel really guilty having exposed those people to you all, in a blog that most people seem to appreciate, only for them to be insulted.
Have a nice day!
Jacksonedit: I back this too, so if you’ve got a problem you can yell at me as well.
It was requested that I link the following article article, and I completely agree. It explains what is going on in Libya, and why, concisely, and is followed by updates. Catch up. http://motherjones.com/mojo/2011/02/whats-happening-libya-explained
Additionally, Al Jazeera has implemented a live blog on the current state of Libya, which I suggest you all check in on. http://blogs.aljazeera.net/middle-east/2011/02/17/live-blog-libya
I encourage you, ask you even, to reblog this and pass this concise information along.
(Sorry, but in the interest of making that last post universally reblog-able, I didn’t want to include this)
I have seen a few other popular fuck yeah blogs have shut down all usual content in favor of instead blogging entirely about Libya. We will not be doing that. We will be posting submissions, and posting our own content as usual.
Secondly, we’re a different kind of community here. The kind of bloody image that might shock some people or horrify them have their purpose in spurring those people into action. For the most part- we are not that kind of people. We are the kind of people who enjoy blood, and might even sort of have a boner for it. And I really don’t think I can facilitate the use of the images of the carnage in Libya to facilitate such creeptastic boners, so this blog will NOT be posting any blood from any kind of mutilation or corpse photographed in Libya.
